Ruben Amorim Calls for Greater Consistency from Amad Diallo
Ruben Amorim, the manager of Manchester United, has called on young winger Amad Diallo to improve his performance and consistency following a crucial draw against Nottingham Forest in the Premier League. Despite Amad’s late goal that secured a point for the Red Devils, Amorim emphasized the need for more sustained effort from the talented forward.
The match at the City Ground saw Manchester United take an early lead through Casemiro, who continued his strong form with a goal before halftime. However, Nottingham Forest made a strong comeback, scoring two goals within three minutes after the break to take the lead. Amad’s 81st-minute volley ensured a share of the points, preventing Forest from securing their second win of the season.
Amorim expressed frustration over the team’s loss of control during the second half, noting that this situation would have been more challenging for the team last season. He acknowledged the progress made but stressed the importance of maintaining energy and focus throughout the entire game.
“Sometimes we have these moments. In the end, we lost two points and we need to get three points in the next game,” Amorim said. He also highlighted the potential of young players like Amad, stating that they have the talent to perform at a higher level consistently.

Amad, who scored his first goal of the season, showed glimpses of his ability in the first half, creating several opportunities. However, Amorim believes there is room for improvement. “He has a lot of talent. We have a lot of players who are young and talented. Amad can be so much better and be more consistent.”
Despite the draw, Manchester United remain in sixth place in the Premier League, while Nottingham Forest continue to struggle at 18th, just four points away from safety. Forest captain Gibbs-White admitted that the team was disappointed not to secure all three points. He pointed out errors in the match, particularly two questionable corner decisions that cost them crucial points.
“It is good to get a point, but the dressing room is frustrated to not get all three [points]. We conceded two silly corners, and I don’t think the first one was even a corner,” Gibbs-White said. He emphasized the need for the team to move forward and start accumulating more points to climb up the table.

Looking ahead, Manchester United will face Tottenham in their next Premier League match, while Nottingham Forest will travel to Sturm Graz for their Europa League fixture. The upcoming games present critical opportunities for both teams to improve their positions in the league.
