Alreinamedia.com-Tanjungpinang, Governor of the Riau Archipelago H. Ansar Ahmad inaugurated the use of the integration road of the Pelantar I and Pelantar II Ports of Kuala Riau Tanjungpinang, Tuesday (21/02/23)

The construction of the integration road for the Pelantar I and Platform II docks will further facilitate access to goods and logistics that rely on the Kuala Riau Tanjungpinang port.

The construction of the Port of Kuala Riau Integration Road 1 and Platform 2 uses alternative financing from PT SMI with a contract value of Rp. 21,283,466,000, – for the construction of the Lightning 1 Segment and Rp. 15,832,491,928, – for the construction of the 2nd Platform Segment.

Governor Ansar said that before the construction of the integration road for the Pelantar I and Platform II docks, the condition of the entry route to the Kuala Riau port was only through one entrance at Pelantar II.

With this integration road, trucks and goods transport that will load and unload at Kuala Riau port will enter via the Pelantar I route and leave at Pelantar II. So that it can expedite the process of distribution of goods and logistics in Tanjungpinang City.

“If we look at it before, it was very chaotic at Platform II, because trucks went in and out of the port both on the same route. Now with the integration road for Platform I and Platform II, the flow of goods in and out of this port can be more organized,” Governor Ansar said.

Governor Ansar believes that economic growth in Tanjungpinang City will increase with the integration of the first and second docks. In addition, the inflation rate for basic needs in Tanjungpinang will also be more under control with the short dwelling time (loading and unloading) at the port of Kuala Riau.

“If the loading and unloading time can be shortened, of course it can also reduce the inflation rate in Tanjungpinang, because usually the long queues for incoming goods cause the price of basic necessities to rise because distribution is hampered,” said Governor Ansar.

The Governor of Ansar at the same time asked for support from the people of Tanjungpinang, because a foreign aid agency from the United States, namely the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) is currently studying the first and second stages to obtain grant assistance of IDR 300 billion.

According to him, the team from MCC America had gone directly to the field several times to provide assistance. The Riau Islands Provincial Government is also intensely completing the readiness criteria, which is required by the American MCC team.

“The completion of the construction of the integration of Platform I and Platform II has further added credit points for MCC so that they can look at us. It is possible that we will get at least IDR 300 billion at the end of 2023 or early 2024,” he said.

Governor Ansar and the Governor of Riau Islands for the 2005-2010 period Ismeth Abdullah pressed the bell as a sign of the inauguration, Gerry Yasid, member of the Riau Islands Provincial DPRD, Bobby Jayanto, and Teddy Jun Askara.

After ringing the bell, the Governor of Ansar then gave the opportunity to Hj..Aida Ismeth as a form of honor to cut the ribbon for the inauguration of the integration docks of the first and second stages.

On this occasion, the Governor of Ansar also symbolically provided basic food assistance to five representatives of workers at the port of Kuala Riau.
