Imo Ambush: Driver Dead, Motorists Seized

Authorities in Imo State, Nigeria, have launched a large-scale operation to apprehend a group of armed men responsible for a deadly attack and abduction that occurred in the Amala area of Ngor-Okpala Local Government Area. The incident, which took place on December 7th, has heightened concerns about security in the region.

Law enforcement officials confirmed that the attack resulted in the death of a driver and the abduction of several motorists. The Imo State Police Command, led by Commissioner of Police Aboki Danjuma, is working with other security agencies and local vigilante groups to track down the perpetrators and rescue the kidnapped victims.

Details of the Incident

According to police reports, the armed men emerged from a concealed path in the Amala area at approximately 5:50 PM. They immediately opened fire on a Toyota Highlander, registration number SMK 514 BD, fatally wounding the driver. Following this, they seized the occupants of a Lexus RS300, bearing license plate FSD 334 XA.

Police Response and Investigation

Upon receiving a distress call, officers from the Ngor-Okpala Division were immediately dispatched to the scene. They secured the area and transported the injured driver to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Commissioner of Police Aboki Danjuma has ordered a comprehensive operation involving various police units, security agencies, and local vigilantes. This operation includes:
