Stalker of Pop Star Billie Eilish Dies in Train Incident
A man with a documented history of stalking Grammy-winning singer Billie Eilish has died after being struck by a train on Long Island, New York. Prenell Rousseau, 30, of Farmingdale, was hit by a Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) train in Westbury early Wednesday morning.
Police officials reported that Rousseau was jogging near the train tracks at the time of the incident, which occurred around 5:38 a.m. Authorities are currently treating his death as an accident.
Rousseau first gained notoriety in 2020 when he repeatedly appeared at Billie Eilish’s Los Angeles residence. These persistent visits led the singer and her family to seek and obtain a restraining order against him.
Disturbing Encounters and Legal Action
Court documents from the time paint a picture of concerning behaviour. During multiple visits to the home Eilish shares with her parents in May 2020, Rousseau exhibited what was described as “erratic behaviour.” These encounters culminated in his arrest for trespassing.
In one particularly unsettling instance, Eilish’s father, Patrick O’Connell, reportedly spoke with Rousseau at the door. Rousseau allegedly admitted he might have the wrong house. However, despite this admission, he returned later the same day.

Further filings revealed that Rousseau made multiple appearances at the property over May 4th and 5th. His behaviour escalated, becoming increasingly erratic and leaving Eilish and her family deeply shaken.
Eilish’s attorney, Mark D. Passin, sought a five-year restraining order against Rousseau. Ultimately, Judge Gould-Saltman issued a three-year order, with the judge noting it could be extended if Rousseau attempted further contact.
A Pattern of Unsettling Behaviour
During his initial approach to the Eilish residence, Rousseau reportedly rang the doorbell and, via the Ring camera, inquired if the singer lived there. Even after Patrick O’Connell informed him he had the wrong address, Rousseau reappeared that same evening.
The court documents detailed further disturbing conduct. On one occasion, he was observed sitting on the porch, engrossed in reading a book while talking to himself. He ignored repeated requests from Patrick O’Connell to leave the property.

The situation intensified when private security arrived. Rousseau reluctantly departed but returned again later that night, allegedly hiding behind a wall as if intending to remain there.
Adding to the family’s distress was Rousseau’s apparent disregard for public health guidelines during the COVID-19 pandemic. Court filings indicated he did not wear a face mask during five of his visits. He also repeatedly touched the doorbell and doorknobs with bare hands, further amplifying the sense of intrusion and unease.
Eilish and Family’s Fear
Billie Eilish herself described the incidents in the legal filings as “frightening,” highlighting the significant strain these repeated intrusions placed on her and her family. Despite the existence of the restraining order, Rousseau’s persistence and unpredictable actions made the encounters profoundly unsettling.
Adding another layer to the disturbing narrative, Rousseau’s Instagram account reportedly featured unsettling content. This included a drawing that bore a resemblance to the singer, accompanied by a cryptic message: “Anyway — I love u b … that is all.”
